ABOUT CSTA SINGAPORE

CSTA Singapore was founded in 2021 with a focus on providing professional development for the growing field of computer science education, provide governance and framework for standards within the local Singapore market for both teachers and students. 

Aligned with the most comprehensive international standards accepted by major tech companies, CSTA Singapore looks to elevate the CS Education experience and prepare individuals for a tech driven world of tomorrow. 

For Stakeholders 

 
Incident Reporting    
  • Companies that are CSTA Members will be required to submit incident reports to CSTA Singapore when incidents occur in the course of teaching. Incidents such as teachers not showing up, fighting in class and many other reasons that impede the successful conduct of class will be reported ensuring accountability. 
  • Incident Reports are submitted on a quarterly basis, stakeholders such as schools, government agencies can request for these incident reports from companies that are CSTA members to hold companies accountable, and teachers accountable on professional standards and conduct.
 
For Teachers 
 
Professional Development 
  • CSTA Singapore provides the framework for professional development on teachers training in local markets. These professional development sessions are then delivered by CSTA  accredited companies to teachers ensuring these educators have continuous professional development. 
CSTA Registry
  • The CSTA Registry is a registry of teachers that have been teaching computer science in the local markets. These teachers would have signed and acknowledge the code of conduct of CSTA teachers and agree to abide by the professional standards as a CSTA Singapore member. Teachers on the CSTA Registrar has taught continuously in a 12 month period and have delivered programmes for both the Primary school and secondary school levels over a myriad of platforms. 
Access to Unions
  • CSTA Singapore works closely with the National Instructors and Coaches Association in ensuring that teachers rights within the industry are looked after. Teachers who are CSTA Members can reach out to CSTA Singapore for union matters such as pay delays, unfair dismissal and etc.
