The Board of Advisors were nominated based on their merits and contribution to the local Computer Science Education Scene. They provide key insights to the development and growth of the chapter as well as key resources to facilitate the advance of Computer Science Education in Singapore. 

Desmond Peh


Desmond Peh is a multi-award winning entrepreneur specializing in the Education Space. He is the founder of one of the most endearing education brands in Singapore -JustEdu. One of his core beliefs is that computer science education helps synthesize various academic content and provides better understanding for students. 

Desmond Peh believes that every student is talented and it his mission to bring out the best of each students abilities. Outside of education, Desmond Peh has extensive experience in publishing for educational brands and is a key figure within the local education space. 

He is passionate about having students learn computer science believing that it solve sa pressing and urgent need. He strongly believes that the Computer Science is a key skills and knowledge required to thrive in the future. 

In his University Days, Desmond Peh was one of the first few people to learn coding and scored the highest in his class for his coding module. 

Dr Gary Tsu 

 
Dr Gary Tsu has more than three decades of experience in education and training. Beginning as a secondary teacher for Chemistry and Computer Applications, he rose up the ranks to serve as a pioneer in education technology under Singapore MOE’s first Masterplan for IT in Education in 1997. He went on to serve as Principal of Shuqun Primary School and Wellington Primary School over 14 years. Wellington Primary School was the school that organised National Primary Games Creation Competition.
 
He returned to Educational Technology Division for another stint to provide his insights and coaching to younger educational technologist before he set up his consultancy business in 2019. Apart from offering consultancy to businesses and private education institutions, Gary also offers financial planning services to leaders and companies.
 
He has a Doctorate in Business Administration, a Masters in Education as well as an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection. Gary’s professional qualifications include IBFQ, CIPM and ACLP. He is a certified facilitator for LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods and Materials and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Tony Tan 

 

Tony Tan is a full time technology practitioner. Having spent a bulk of his career as Cheif Technology Officers (CTO) for various companies. He has worked with multiple companies from Start-ups to MNCs to government organizations helping them leverage and build better IT systems, infrastructure and support. 

His main expertise is in low code and no code industrial platforms. Among many of his talents, Tony Tan is 1 out of 3 certified bubble coach in Singapore. He leads a community of low code and no code technoloy platforms enthusiasts in Singapore guiding them on creating industrial ready applications for the market. 

Tony Tan is passionate about Education and Technology and believes that learning Computer Science is a super power.

Jason W. Bohrer

Jason W. Bohrer is CSTA's Chapter Relations Manager overseeing chapter growth, development and alignment. 

Prior to joining CSTA, Jason taught CS and English in the Northern California foothills for more than a dozen years. Before his career in education, he served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly a decade. As an educator, he helped develop a CS pathway in a Title I district that hadn’t previously offered CS courses. He emphasized closing the gender gap and engaging more female students in CS coursework, and, in 2018, his work garnered the College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award. Passionate about CS education, Jason strives to empower teachers, schools, and districts in bringing a myriad of wonderfully developed curricula to life, and to inspire teachers to incorporate computing and computational thinking as part of every classroom.
